North Bedford Churches Together
North Bedford Churches Together (NBCT) is a new ecumenical group which came into being on 16th May AD 2019. It includes all the Christian communities which formally belonged to Goldington Churches Together (Holy Cross Catholic Church and the protestant communities of St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church and Priory Methodist Church); it also now includes Ss Philip and James Catholic Church and Putnoe Heights Methodist Church. We are pleased to have also developed informal links with other Christian communities. The areas covered by this new ecumenical group are Brickhill, Goldington, Putnoe and Renhold. We very much look forward to the new group of Churches and Christian communities working together in partnership! We recognise that the evident disunity within the Body of Christ, the Church, is a scandal and hinders her mission of evangelisation. We also acknowledge that we can’t overcome our theological differences at a local level. However, our aim is to grow closer together by witnessing, worshipping, studying, ministering and serving one another and the whole of the local community of which we are a part.
The Rosary Group of SS Philip & James was formed in Oct 2007. It is a thriving happy group that meets at 13.45 every Monday to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet, followed by the Rosary at 14.00. After the Rosary we have tea, cakes and biscuits and a catch up on chat. We number up to 40 or more when everyone attends, but as with all things the numbers vary. We usually disband about 15.00, tidy up the Church and after a prayerful relaxing afternoon go home contented.
Please do come and join us, we welcome new and old friends, we have a booklet with all prayers in so no need to worry if you are a bit rusty! If you intend to come again you will have your own booklet prepared for you.
